Background
Yousef is originally Palestinian but was born in Jordan and grew up in Saudi Arabia. He holds B. Sc. in Chemical Engineering- Jordan (1996), P. Grad. Certificate in Business Administration from Sheffield Hallam University- UK (2003), and MBA from Deakin University- Australia (2007). Yousef acquired the accreditation of the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) in professional translation (2007). His academic career began in 2004 at Deakin University as a lecturer and then as the key developer of Deakin's Arabic program online. In 2009, he joined The University of Melbourne as a Lecturer in Arabic. Currently he is and Acting-Convenor of the Arabic Program.
Teaching
Yousef authored a number of publications in Arabic language resources development and translated many books and articles.
Research Interests
In parallel with his professional career, Yousef is a community activist, founder/ producer of two radio programs, and a member of the Consultative Committee of the Australian Alliance for Reconciliation.
